Coloring Pages
From the founding of the Entomology Club, we knew that we wanted to work with children in our community to get them excited about insects. Due to Covid-19 restrictions, many of our plans on how to achieve this goal have been postponed. We needed to get creative in how we were going to connect with the lower schoolers in our community without being able to see them face to face. Hence, we created coloring pages. Each page features a fun fact and a picture of an insect found within our local community. Everyone in the club pitched in to create the coloring pages in order to serve the community. Upon finishing the coloring pages, we got in contact with the Head of Lower School. She directed us to the first grade teachers, as they were in the process of learning about insects in their science class. Through direct communication with the first grade teachers, we were able to deliver the coloring pages to the first grade students for them to color. We plan on completing more projects like this in the future and continuing to connect with our Lower School scientists!
